On Point on Poe
WBUR's On Point with Tom Ashcroft had an entire show on Edgar Allan Poe today with some professorial guests: J. Gerald Kennedy, Stephen Rachman and Susan Elizabeth Sweeney. All good guests, but I wish they had called Paul Lewis, my Boston College nemesis. He was so wonderfully articulate, interesting and passionate at the Debate.
I'm listening right now. I'll comment later with a follow-up.
Some great observations by all the guests. And Sweeney gives a shout-out to Daniel Hoffman's Poe Poe Poe Poe Poe Poe Poe. First time I met Hoffman, I told him his book was my favorite on Poe and without missing a beat, Hoffman replies with a sly smile, "Mine, too!"
