Ed and Edgar blog contest

Come on by Monday, January 28, for the kick-off of the Ed and Edgar blog.  I'll be travelling throughout the year to all sites related to Poe and interviewing all sorts of Poe fanatics.  I'll also be spreading the Philly Poe gospel everywhere I go.  The fun started in Baltimore on Poe's birthday and will take me to Richmond, New York, Boston, West Point, back to Baltimore and finishing in October in Philadelphia for Poe's death anniversary and his honorary holiday, Halloween.

I'll also be speaking at various venues, which I'll let you know about as they happen (First up is the Manayunk Arts Center in Philly on Sun Feb 3).

So come on by Monday and read all about my trip to Baltimore last weekend.  Yes, I saw the Poe Toaster.  But did I convert him to my cause?  You'll have to come back to find out.

And the first 10 readers to leave a comment on Monday's first Ed and Edgar post will receive a Philly Poe souvenir (which I will mail to the winners free of charge).

So come back and read (and win a prize).

Ed

This is GREAT Ed (and Edgar). Can't wait for the official launch and all the activities on the way.

I'm also excited to see so much energy devoted to a lost cause. I believe as long as you don't push the "Poe belongs in Philadelphia" mantra your blog will be exceptional.

By the way, I thought I saw the Poe Toaster chasing someone that looked very much like you?

Frankly, I'm surprised you aren't avocating moving the Poe Toaster to Philadelphia also!

Personally I think you were overwhelmed by the amount of people that showed up for the celebration and to watch for the Toaster. If this celebration was held in Philadelphia I'm sure it would be underwhelming event.

You know where to send the gift. Hey, it's not a greasy cheese steak sub is it??

I'll give you a plug. Maybe one of my three regular readers will take a look.

Good luck with the new blog, Ed!

I wish I could stop by for the grand opening on Monday morning, but my office just blocked half the internet--including blogs!!! Can you believe it?

I say you send Jerome a cheesesteak anyway--wit!

Any ETA on Ed and Edgar the Book? Can the musical be far behind?

A confession from Jeff Jerome: I do like greasy cheese steak subs! Thanks Bill for the suggestion. I want swiss cheese, fried onions-not the soggy kind but with some body, real shaved steak not the "formed" crap, a slight spread of mayo, crisp romaine lettuce with a light touch of sliced sweet pickles. Oh and the roll--soft inside with crust that crunches when you bite on it.

Please deliver to: 203 North Amity Street, Baltimore, Md. 21223. C/O Eddie Poe.

We're still keeping Poe's bones here.

As the writer of a blog and audio podcast at celebratepoe.podbean.com I was fascinated by your blog - I used to work at the Poe Museum, and feel that Richmond has as big a claim to Poe as Philly or Baltimore - but then London and Stratford claim Shakespeare, and we are talking America's Shakespeare here!

Fascinating reading!
